There are approximately 35 CRNAs and 24 physicians in the anesthesia group and Surgical Services includes 10 OR suites in its main OR, 3 OR suites in labor & delivery, and 6 OR suites in the ambulatory surgery center in Folsom which this position also oversees.

Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

In this role, working with the chief of service, you will supervise a staff of certified registered nurse anesthetists ensuring that they are in compliance with The Joint Commission, and other local, state and federal regulations. You will develop schedules, department standards, policies and procedures, as well as establish and maintain quality of care and service standards. Additionally, you will develop and monitor budgets and resource allocation monitor department financial performance and identify and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service. You will also review anesthetic evaluation of patients prior to surgeries and consult with anesthesiologists and/or surgeons as needed. Clinical duties will include administering intravenous, spinal, and other anesthetics prior to and during surgical or medical procedures.

Requirements include the following:
• Current California RN license
• Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia
• California Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
• Prior supervisory experience
• BCLS and NPI required ACLS preferred
• Ability to work well in teams and have effective communication skills
• Demonstrated understanding of all regulatory requirements and legal consequences of anesthesia care
